Why Do Counseling?
Counseling can potentially help people with specific issues and disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, infertility, family conflict, relationship issues, overeating, loneliness, trauma, and grief. This is just a small list, as the reasons people seek counselors are unique and different for each individual. While for some people it may be complex and they may have multiple stressors, others may need a quick “tune-up”, and be on their way.
Sometimes people may believe that they have nowhere to turn, and that their concerns may not warrant the type of intervention that a counselor can offer. That is simply untrue! A counselor will be there for you regardless of the size of your problem. Counselors can offer approaches to solutions that you might not have thought of yourself. This is due to objectivity, being non-judgmental, and professional training.
